Dabico FMT Passenger Gangways
Dabico FMT Passenger Gangways are developed in-house and tailor-made for each customer's specific demands.
There are often a large variety of different ships to be served and many constraints like lifeboats, tidal variations, and clearance for service vehicles on the wharf deck etc.
Dabico FMT has a unique range of Passenger Gangways for the service of ferries and cruise ships. The types are mainly:
- Mobile Elevating Gangways of switch back type perpendicular to the fender line.
- Mobile Elevating Gangways of switch back type parallel with the fender line.
- Mobile Telescopic Bridge with rotating cabin section for connection to the ship entrance.
- Fixed Nose-Loader type of telescopic Gangway.
The above types can be adjusted and adapted for each customer's special needs and requirements. Dabico FMT is well-known for its high quality and modern design with the highest technical range of components.
Mobile Elevating Gangway
The Dabico FMT Mobile Elevating Gangway (MEG) was created in 1998 to serve Mega Cruise ships. The first three MEGs were installed at Port of Miami Terminals F & G for RCI Voyager Class ships. The MEG solved two issues: full mobility on the wharf deck and a vertical service window while fulfilling ADA slope requirements.
Dabico FMT received a US Patent for the first mobile switch-back type of Passenger Gangway. The MEG can have different styles and orientations, including the Parallel Elevating Gangway (PEG) which has two or three sloping parallel tunnel sections.
Mobile Telescopic Bridge
The Dabico FMT Mobile Telescopic Bridge (MTB) for seaports is an enlarged airport apron drive bridge made for the marine environment and with the capability to reach 12 meters above the wharf deck. The Dabico MTB has been delivered in more than 15 units for the US market only.
The Dabico FMT MTB has three telescoping tunnels as standard and is equipped with an always horizontal cab section which makes the transition between gangway and tunnel very convenient and safe even for elderly people and people with disabilities.
Fixed Telescopic Bridge
The Dabico FMT Fixed Telescopic Bridges are mostly used for ferry terminals around the world. Dabico FMT started to deliver this kind of Fixed Bridge for ferries already during the 1980s.
The Fixed Telescopic Bridges are hydraulically elevated and telescopic movable to and from the ship. The design with few moving parts makes this kind of design very well suited for extreme climates like winter, ice and storms.
Fixed Walkway
The Dabico FMT Fixed Walkways are normally delivered to support a Mobile Gangway or as a transition tunnel to and from a Mobile Telescopic bridge or Fixed Telescopic Bridge.
